你知道在罰時帳有哪些要注意的地方嗎? Do You Know What The Things Are That You Have to Pay Attention to Penalty Tent?
Per the article posted last week, we have mentioned the time penalty for violation on the bike course. But what you can do and what you cannot do in the penalty tent may be the most common issue for triathletes. Athletes who violate a competition rule will need to serve time penalty but fails to report to the next penalty tent in the Transition Area will be disqualified! Here are some important rules that require your special attention:
- All bike-course time penalties will be served in a designated Penalty Tent (“PT”). After a rule violation is issued to the athlete, it is the athlete’s responsibility to report to the next PT on the course. Failure to stop at the next PT on the bike course will result in disqualification.
- While in the PT, athletes can consume only the food and/or water that is on the athlete’s bike or person. (DSQ)
- Athletes are prohibited from using the restroom while serving a penalty in the PT. Using the restroom while serving a time penalty will result in disqualification.
- Making adjustments to equipment or performing any type of bike maintenance while serving a penalty in the PT is prohibited. (DSQ)
The average timing for the IRONMAN 70.3 is 6-7 hours. If you are informed of the penalties for violations, remember to report to the next PT on the course and follow the competition rules. Don’t let your training go to waste because of the time penalty. The ultimate victory in competition is to achieve your personal goal and that’s what we call the true IRONMAN spirit!
